Post subject: How to start? |
|
|
Hi everyone, I'm petrolhead and simulators fanatic, and always I found answers in topics, but this time I need to ask here.
Can somebody say me where I can download RBR rally? All my country torrents without seeders on this game. Somebody help me.. And next question about playing in tournaments? what I need to do, to play tournaments? Thanks |

I only know of this place to buy a downloadable version:
https://uk.gamesplanet.com/game/richard-burns-rally-download--2693-1
Here is the official how-to, although it's rather obsolete:
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=al&p=howtostart
My semi quick and fully dirty how-to that tries to supersede it:
1- Install the game. Important: Not into Program Files if you are using Windows Vista/7/8...
Use something like C:\Richard Burns Rally.
2- Update the game to 1.02 (RBR_v102.zip). You'll have to search the internet because rbr.onlineracing.cz links are dead ...
3- Open your Richard Burns Rally folder and delete PC_InputFilter.ini.
Open RichardBurnsRally.ini
Delete the line that says "Constant Force Multiplier -60".
The line that says:
RunIntro = true
change it to read:
RunIntro = false
Save and exit.
4- Highly recommended: Complete the lessons in the basic and advanced rally school. I'm not sure but I think the steps below "disable" rally school permanently, so this is a good time to attempt it. You'll want to make an initial configuration of the controls/game to your liking while you start to get to grips with driving but that's beyond the scope of this how-to. In principle, if you are using wheel & pedals, all "filter settings" should be set to 0 and "instant" (linear). If you are trying to drive with a XBox pad (not highly recommended) you may want to use this script to be able to "left foot brake".
5- Install latest version of the RBRTM plugin (the czech plugin itself), currently 0.88 (not 0.87 as official how-to says...)
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=download&cat=14
6- Install z-fix
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=download&cat=1
Since 2015 we have "next generation physics" cars. I wouldn't bother with older cars. NGP needs 2 more plugins. So...
7- Install latest FixUp and NGP plugin available. I recommend you read the respective readmes. Plugins go into the "plugins" folder, BTW.
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=download&cat=1174
8-To install NGP cars, you can go the old way as explained in the official how-to (but using as base physics.rbz the one provided by NGP download), or the new and, I guess (I haven't tested it), easiest way through the VDRM installer. It's a way to automate the "old way" process. VDRM installer is at the bottom:
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=download&cat=1169
9- Install the vanilla reversed tracks...
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=download&cat=20
... and as many add-on tracks as necessary. As you enter tournaments you will be asked for missing "track id xxx" if you don't have it installed. I use this link to find out what track xxx is...
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/index.php?act=stagerec&stageid=10
Just substitute the trailing "10" for the "xxx" id given in the error message... With the name of the track in hand go to the tracks download page... Although you'll end up downloading everything anyway . BTW, some stages can give you a CTD under certain circumstances (admins... ) VDRM installer includes some fixes and also some of the tracks, although I don't know if the tracks included are the latest versions (some of VDRM installer content is not latest version). My guess is they are.
Here is the track download page:

10- Recommended: Install the pacenote plugin. It's not only about pacenotes...
http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/pacenote-plugin-support-download.62725/
11- Oh, I almost forgot, follow steps 6-11 of the official how-to, those are still valid and necessary:

Create a new profile on rbr.onlineracing.cz. BEWARE! Use only US-ASCII chars!!!
Open file RichardBurnsRally.ini and put your login and password there - e.g. if you are registered as "NOVAK Petr" and your password is "zelva", put there
[RBRTMSettings]
AutoLoginName = NOVAK Petr
AutoLoginPassword = zelva
From now you will be logged in the plugin automatically, the plugin won't ask for your username / password.
Start RBR, go into Setting-->Plugins -- > RBR Turnament --> Setting and make your changes to configuration.
In Setting -->Plugins -- > RBR Tournament --> Online tournaments you'll get the list of open turnaments, choose one, entry into, set all you need, and then start race.
You can find all your results in the rally on plugin web pages. If anyone sends his/her replay from a stage, you can find it there.
If don't know anything check our forum |
... obviously, if you only have NGP cars you will only be able to enter NGP car tournaments, just keep that in mind.
I Hope I haven't forgotten anything, somebody correct me...
...Oh yes! It's worth it. |
