Some questions about wallaby and trackediting

Postby Jompar » Thu Nov 13, 2008 12:30 am

Hello.
Well I hadn't enought time for my project of making a new track for RBR.
But now I want to start.
I know how to model and how to map in 3ds.
What things Should I know before start to create my new track??
Is there any requirement from the comuntiy for exporting it to the game??
I`ve readed in the past the modelling and texturing tutorials from this web.
But maybe there is something else, like the kind of materials, or what materials should go with some kind of objects in one texture file.

when will I can download wallaby. It is easy to use?¿

Is there any problem it the track looks like real, but it isn't exactly real, like original stages of RBR.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

For all objects, you only need to use standard materials in 3ds.
For .x exporting from 3ds, I can't remember who give me the X exporter i use for 3ds 7. But other X exporters like panda for 3ds 8 can work too in order to test some basic exportations and importations into wallaby.
Could you post some 3ds screenshots of your project ?

well my old project was a crappy work . It was done using an spline, 3ds loft tool and multi/sub object material comnbined with a tile way of mapping... But maybe it would give me problems exporting the track.
If you want I can post you some screens of that old project
But now I started from scratch again following this nice tutorial
http://rbr.onlineracing.cz/tracks/article.php?id=33
I'll post you screens as soon as posible ;)
Thank you very much for your answer :)
