Splash effect

Postby delu77 » Tue Sep 22, 2009 2:19 pm

Hi @ all...
Which is the right way to have a splash effect?
I am converting a track that needs it...Is it a simple material question? If I apply the water material to the "splash"part it don't works..

Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot,
Andrea

come on guys...no one read this? :D
I have made some tests with a part of rally school track which in some parts include a "second layer" over it, and applied the "water surface" material as in existent and working tracks, but I cannot see the "splash"....
Any suggestion mates?
Thanks a lot
Andrea

I have no idea how to get splash to work. What i can see from wallaby there is also one hidden layer over the splash zone surface. You can see it if you enable hidden meshes on the Visibility menu. Look at the pictures:

There must be on of the animations scripts that enable splash effects, or maybe it is enough to apply material WATER like here:

Here you can see that in the middle there is water surface.

No, the hidden mesh isnt for splash effect. this mesh is allways under the real map as hide mesh (on all maps, without water too).
The material water hasn´t any effect, i try it.

i think it is an animation by water texture. maybe wallaby did not show all secrets of rbr.

Hidden or not, the "water surface" material don't realize the desired effect.
Some tracks also has the "water" in the DLS10 section, some not, anyhow it works well.
